Bidding Prayers

Prayers of the Faithful
Twenty-sixth Sunday Year C

Priest:
We come before our God who shared his riches with everyone, by sending his Son into the world, as we remember the special needs of the poor.

1.         We pray for the leaders of the church.  May they show forth the                    compassion of Christ for the poor in their striving for a more just              society.  Lord hear us.

2.         May all who are tempted to become slaves of wealth and security realise     that spiritual poverty arises from refusing to share with others.  Lord             hear us.

3.         That we may all have the grace to show mercy and compassion,                     generosity and understanding to those in need.  Lord hear us.

4.         For peace and security in our world, may the voices of the peacemakers      be heard.  Lord hear us.

5.         For the sick of our community.  Especially Flo Milligan, Tommy

Murray, Michael Connelly, Josh Stewart, Elizabeth Lochrie, Cathy

Lawson, Ronnie MacMaster, Joseph Flaherty, Margaret Woods, Marion

Sinclair, Martin Mone, Anna & Jackie Campbell, Robert Findlay.

Lord hear us.

6.         For those who have departed this life recently Cathy MacKenzie, Frank

Cannon. Month’s Mind of Mary Whyte. And for the anniversary of

Robert Findlay, Thomas Bryson, Madge Conner, Rose Bourke,

Josephine McGlynn, David Fitch, Kathleen Jackson, Annie Lamon.  Lord hear us.

7.         We pray in silence for our own intentions.
